Staff Profiles

LBASC has a friendly, well-trained and professional staff team. All of our staff have up-to-date DBS checks and take the safety and welfare of your child(ren) very seriously.

Catherine Daw

PLAY LEADER AND DESIGNATED SAFEGUARDING LEAD FOR CHILD PROTECTION

Catherine joined LBASC in February 2009. Her qualifications include an NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Play work, Paediatric First Aid, Advanced Interagency Child Protection, Food Hygiene, Fire Safety, Encouraging Positive Behaviour, Administering Medicine and Manual/Positive Handling. Catherine also has a BA honours degree in Art and Visual Culture, which she enjoys putting to good use by leading art and craft activities with the children. In addition to her Play leader role, Catherine works as a SMSA and provides LSA support at Luckwell Primary School. She has also worked as a Support Worker, which has given her experience of working with people who have additional needs.

Steve Dainton

DEPUTY DESIGNATED SAFEGUARDING LEAD FOR CHILD PROTECTION

Steve joined the LBASC team in 2013. His qualifications include an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Children’s Care Learning and Development, Paediatric First aid, Child Protection, Food Hygiene, Fire Safety and Administering Medicine. Steve has over 15 years of experience of working as a Play worker with various clubs across Bristol. He enjoys outdoor play, and often leads our sports activities and group games in the school’s playground and sports hall.

Beverley Jones

DEPUTY DESIGNATED SAFEGUARDING LEAD FOR CHILD PROTECTION

Bev joined our team in 2015, bringing a wealth of experience of working with the children of Luckwell School as a SMSA. Bev has completed a Level 2 qualification in Play work and has received training in Child Protection, Paediatric First Aid, Fire Safety and Food Hygiene. Bev is great at encouraging and supporting imaginative and creative play with the children.

Angela Clements

PLAY WORKER

Angela has worked for LBASC for over 10 years. She is an experienced play worker in addition to working as a SMSA at Luckwell Primary School. Angela has completed training in First Aid, Child Protection and Food Hygiene. Angela is also a professional florist and enjoys putting her creative skills to good use.

Sharon Redfern

PLAY WORKER AND PART-TIME ADMINISTRATOR

Sharon initially joined LBASC as a Management Committee Member in 2014, offering support to the club in her own time. In 2015, she became the club’s part-time Administrator and a Play worker for the team. Sharon has completed a Level 2 qualification in Play work and has received training in Child Protection, Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene and Fire Safety. In addition to her work at LBASC, Sharon works as an Assistant Sendco at Ashton Gate Primary School. Sharon has a science/research background and is keen to encourage and support the children's interest in science.

Libby Dumper

Libby joined the LBASC team in September 2023. She has a degree in Early Childhood Studies. 

Joanne Douglas

PLAY WORKER - cover

Joanne is delighted to have returned to LBASC as a play worker in September 2022. She has spent the last 8 years as an Early Years LSA at Ashton Gate Primary school. Joanne previously trained as a play worker and LSA at Luckwell Primary school. Her qualifications include NVQ Level 2 Diploma in play work, CACHE level 3 Diploma in Supporting teaching and learning. Joanne is a qualified Paediatric First aider and has received training in Child Protection, Safeguarding and Mental health, Fire Awareness in Education, Food Safety and Hygiene Level 2. Joanne loves supporting all sorts of play types and building positive relationships with children. She wants children to have as much fun as possible. In her spare she time enjoys Zumba and running and dreams of running a marathon one day!
