After School Club
Luckwell Breakfast and After School Club offers an After School Club for children attending Luckwell Primary School. The club is based in the Old Caretakers House, within the school grounds, and is accessed from Luckwell Road. The After School Club runs from after school (3.15pm) until 5.55pm.
Snack time: A healthy snack is provided shortly after pick up, which provides an opportunity for the children to sit and share food together and talk about their day. Food options vary but examples include fruit and vegetables, sandwiches, pasta, soup etc.
Free play and activities: LBASC recognises the importance of child-led play and provides children with options for freely chosen play or adult directed activities such as art and craft, cooking or group games. LBASC uses the school playground directly out the front of the clubhouse all year round, with lots of outdoor toys and equipment to choose from. Children are also free to read and draw outdoors, or create their own games. The children can make use of the different rooms indoors: the play room where there are board games, lego, drawing/art material, toys and a play kitchen; the art room for art and craft activities; the chill out room to read and relax or to play music; the computer room for computing and films . We also use the sports hall for sports, games and special events.
Second snack: At around 5:15pm we have a small second snack – usually fruit or a biscuit and a drink. Water is available throughout the After School Club session.
Indoor play/quiet time: At around 5.30pm the children come into the Club House for quiet time and free-play activities.
